Rodolfo Vera Quizon, Sr., (July 25, 1928 – July 10, 2012) known by his screen name Dolphy, was a Filipino comedian-actor . He was widely regarded as the Philippines' "King of Comedy" for his comedic talent embodied by his long roster of works on stage, radio, television and movies.
Perhaps, among the Millions of laughter/s that every Filipino had laughed in their entire life, most of them came from Dolphy...and that's why we call him The Comedy King. Who had not laugh with John Purongtong or Kevin Cosme? He personified the common Juan dela Cruz in his comedic satire...our ability to laugh at our mishaps and failures. Our undying hopes and dreams...
Facifica Falayfay, Marckova, Golay, are just few of the unforgettable character that had etch a mark in our life with laughters and tears.
And on years to come, I will always remember him for sure...because he chose to die on my Birthday. Goodbye Tito Dolphy.
