Did Bro. Eddie Changed His Plan?
I'm a little late on posting this video message from Bro. Eddie Villanueva but anyways, I need to review this stuff because of recent change of plan from our Spiritual Director. The video was about his message for 2013 prior to his unplanned candidacy.
Honestly I was surprised when recently Bro. Eddie announces his bid for a Senatorial chair. Although there may have been change of plans on his political career but definitely God's plan must supersede everything. That's how I see these sudden filing of candidacy by Bro. Eddie.
Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'
People had that option to change mind...it's also a reality that sometimes our plans fail. It is also a reality that sometimes we rely on our own plans instead of God's plan.

If people thinks that its an intended strategy from Bangon Pilipinas Party, I'll tell you none of those things existed as early as a month ago...at least there would be rumors first but none of those exist. Simply, this is a change of plan...God's plan? It doesn't happen all the time that COMELEC allows late filing of candidacy. That could be a sign.
First, let us consider the current war-of-words inside Senate. These bickering is unhealthy for the institution. I believe we need someone like Bro. Eddie in between these useless arguments. We need a person there that all the Senators would respect (I assumed) or at least listen to. There is too much politics inside our Government institution, we badly need someone that will neutralized partisan interest.
Look at our Party system. These jumping of candidates from one party to another clearly shows that all they cared for is not platform but personal interest. All they cared for is to WIN and never mind even if you are sleeping with your enemies. They are now spitting and throwing stones against the hands the once cared for them.
Mr. Villanueva is not beholden into any Party causes. His advocacy had always been for Love of God and Country. The TV Program Diyos at Bayan had been a living proof for more than a decade now. He had been an activist before God snatched Him to work in His vineyards. He was in prison, falsely accused and nearly died for those vision... He had been an advocate of Freedom of Information before it was even lobbied by our law-makers. His dream was to form an office that will uphold and protect Transparency on Government Transactions. Something that we badly needed not divorce, RH Bill, buying war planes, etc...
Bro. Eddie had come this far to give up the fight. His heart had always been for social reform. Would we take that vision away from anyone? But he was often criticized for this dream (although to us it is his calling) and downgrade him as an ambitious zealot. What's wrong for a Religious leader to take Political office when we allow Action Stars, Rebel Soldiers, Businessmen, and even Gambling Lords to win.

On the video Bro. Eddie said, forget the former things...Okay! Let's forget the past 2 Elections were our beloved candidate fail to make it. But we made a good fight, at least we tried.
As mentioned by Jeremiah, God's original intent is to bless us but sometimes we chose other means to obtain those blessings.
When asked why he would run a 3rd time he said something like this: "Ayoko dumating ang panahon na binigyan ako ng pagkakataon na gawin ang nararapat ay di ko ginawa...." ( That's not his exact words in Filipino but in English we can translate that to one of Bro. Eddie's favorite quotation: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men should do nothing.

Two thousand years ago someone take a stand to fight the Government, he exposed the political and religious leaders BUT we nailed him to a cross. It's time to change our plans or views into this matter...Let us allow Godly people to lead us instead of leaders who buy and sell our Countrymen.
Like I've always said: "Helping people is not done inside the church alone...you do it in the streets." Spiritual things doesn't happen inside church alone as well as doing the the right thing.
Others murmur and complains...but some folks take a stand like Bro. Eddie Villanueva.
Once again...I am not ashamed of the Gospel.

JIL People Annual Anointing of Oil

First Sunday of the year...therefore Jesus is Lord Church's annual anointing of oil for faithful member was held. It's a must for the Body of Christ to be anointed to start each year right. To receive the Lord's favor for the whole year is far more important than having 12 kinds of round fruits on the table or wearing polka dots to welcome 2013 which the unbeliever religiously observes.
Without the Lord's favor of course everything will be in vain. As head of my family I made sure the complete attendance of my wife and kids for that Sunday service...We can be absent on church some other day but never on a day of significant importance.
Faith and faithfulness are two different things. I told Elijah, my eldest son explaining why we need to be smeared with oil. Once again, I have to explain to him that some things are needed for symbolical purposes. When we enter into a contract we need to sign pages of document to bind the agreement and that was how the anointing of oil is to be liken.
We have to make sure that before entering into anything, like the Israelite before claiming the land of Canaan they have to consecrate themselves before The Lord before they acted the war. Thus, for Christians we have to renew our vow each year (possibly each time we enter into a big decision or new goal) as a covenant and for me to make sure that God is with us all through out the year.
It's a difficult task to pray for each and every family member but I admire that dedication by our Church leaders to make sure every individual get their anointing, blessings, and prayers. A personalized prayer that suits every members need. Time was no importance to our Pastor, he make sure we get our blessing and anointing for the year. The regular 2 hours service was extended and everyone get their much needed prayer for 2013.
Now that me and my family are anointed we are ready to face the New Year ahead. God Bless everyone.

My JIL Journey
As a young boy I grew up in the theology of my father. At that, I admire him more as philosopher than a preacher. He would often engage in religious debate where he outsmart almost everyone, even church leaders.
Despite his knowledge about wrong practices and teaching of the church I grew up with; he still allows me the freedom to discover things on my own. Catholicism was still our outward religious label then. Maybe because of my mother influences or the community pressure being predominantly Catholics as a Nation. I've just realized that my father was simply outnumbered.
It was quite confusing for me having two different set of theologies. My father would constantly quote Bible verses or tell stories to contradict the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. In fact, he had dislike to almost all kinds of religions.
But my father is not an Atheist. Later, I've learned to categorized him as a person between Gnostic-Agnostic. He strongly believe in the existence of God, he believes in Jesus Christ but dislike every human religion. He consider all religion as just money-making scheme.
My Own Search
I was in High School when I begun to really read the Holy Scriptures. Slowly, to my surprise the obscure philosophies of my father became clearer. Wait a Minute!!! My father was right and our Sunday school teacher were very much wrong. I thought my father was just a philosophical wise-cracker but now, allow me to say he was probably more of a prophet.
I begun to wonder. Too many question gnawed at my already conflicting beliefs. I search my self...I search for God...."Why the Bible contradicts the common beliefs?"
Shocked by the Bible, I consulted my father. In his usual witty response he asked me instead: "It is either the Bible is wrong or all Religions are right. What do you think?"
If God is all-knowing and All-power; why then he would allow all these lies? Why those who claim to be Christians tell another stories. Why are these Churches committing identity theft against The Real God whom the Bible speaks?
I remember Dr. Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere, he wrote that after thoroughly examining the Holy Bible, which mean he had read it from cover to cover, he then concluded that there was no purgatory. He also added that not even a hint about purgatory was ever mentioned by the Word of God.
That became an eye-opener for me. A man as wise and as clever as Rizal discover the truth. A church claiming to be from God is teaching its followers invented lies. To trust your life to a religion that had many malpractices is utter foolishness. So I seek for God....
In an earnest prayer, a one on one talk to God, I asked for His guidance. I prayed something like this regularly "Lead me to the truth, LORD." I also asked for the same wisdom He gave to Solomon. "blushed":)
He Leadeth Me to the Path....
We are experiencing family problem then....I chose to ignore reality and shut myself away from the world but at that time I never consider myself to be a sinner. I go to church, sometimes pray but never realized yet that I was a lost soul. I thought it's enough that you go to church, believe in God and everything is alright and well. Never heard about relationship with God.
Until one day I asked "Is there more to life than living?"
The faithfulness of God remains even if I have not been faithful. One day, in a twist of faith I just found myself, with my friend surrendering to Jesus. This happened at Makati Cinema Square, a movie house. My friend and I thought it was a FREE CONCERT. We hear lively chorus and joyful songs. We went inside...at first I thought I was trapped, this is NO concert but a worship service. But we stayed...and instantly, the Holy Spirit touched me that day.
Now I surrender myself to Jesus. Me and my friend just planned to stroll that day on that Mall but God had different plan all along. HE want to rebuild my broken soul.
Back in the Loving Arms of God
I accepted Jesus Christ in my life. Yet maybe like any new Christian, we still get shaken specially during tough times. I am what you call an IN and OUT Christian. Went astray...but unlike the Prodigal son of the Bible, I leave and return more than a dozen times.
Sometimes the devil would accuse me that I can not return anymore. I would hear him say inside my head that Jesus had enough of me. I'm a failure. But God had been merciful to me and assured me that His love is unconditional.
Surprisingly, the persons who had lead me back to our LORD's arm came from both my parents. It really marked on my mind that day, when I saw my father praying and accepting Jesus too. He humble all his religious philosophy and became born again.
Another awesome miracle is when my mother also begun talking about Jesus as a savior, she was the one who invited me to attend Jesus is Lord Church, this was in Tramo, Pasay Chapter that was in 1995.
It was right after a broken relationship and I was at that time in the middle of self-destruction. Drinking and Partying all the time. I was crying that day when I return in the arm of Our Father.
In JIL Tramo, I begun to join ministry works. Jesus Is Lord Church is a real loving community of Christians that does not end inside the church....To help each other in all aspect of life.
I also found a new relationship and was restored by Jesus, and the picture below will show the Dedication of my son Elijah in JIL Tramo in year 2000.
